a jet pilot plans to cover a 1000 km course at an and average speed of 1000km/hr. for the first 800 km his speed is 800km/hr, at what rate must the remaining distance be covered at?
Thanks for the help, I have never been good at word problems and i justdont know how to solve it, you dont have to answer it if you dont want to, but if someone could try to help me solve it, thatd be great,
thanks
Answers:
that's easy
its just averaging
1000-800=200, so divide the 1000 up by 200
so you would have 4 800's and 1 x, signifying speed in the last 200
(800 + 800 + 800 + 800 + x)/5=1000
800x4=
(1200+x)/5=1000
1200 + x= 5000
5000-1200= x= 3800
ten points please
I'm not sure. I dont understand the question
1200km/hr..i believe
wow, do your summer homework your self
he must go, wait wtf? this question is stupid, its not asking for anything, the pilot can go any rate he wants to
the remaining distance can be covered at any rate, theres no answer
I would guess 1200 km/hr. If you take 1200 + 800 and divided it by 2 you would get an average of 1000.
