Question:Two bodies ,one light and other heavy have equal kinetic energy.Which of them possess greater momentum?
Answers:
Momentum = mass*velocity
KE = (1/2)mv^2
v = √[(2KE)/m]
Momentum = mass*(√[(2KE)/m])
Assume Heavy body = 100kg
Assume Light body = 10kg
Assume KE = 10 N
Momentum Heavy = 100*(√[(2*10)/100]) = 44.72 kg*m/s
Momentum Light = 10*(√[(2*10)/10]) = 14.14 kg*m/s
Therefore, the Heavy Body possesses more Momentum than the Light Body.
