Also, how do I find the major thesis? What is it exactly and how do I write it in the essay or how do I insert it in the essay?

Topics to consider in your critique . . .

#1.Characters - Were they interesting and believable? Did you have a favorite? Why was this character special to you? Did the author do a good job of creating the characters in this novel?
#2. Was the author able to hold your interest throughout the entire novel? How did he or she manage to do this?
#3. Which were your favorite scenes in this novel? Explain why you enjoyed them.
#4. What changes, if any, would you have made in this novel?
Lastly:

Is this a book you would recommend to your friends? Why or why not?
*** A thesis is the author's main point of purpose of the book. You can mention the thesis of the book either in the content body or in the intro. Either way remember to summarize briefly the evidence of the thesis. For example: "The author used the relationship between the slave and Judith as an example of how people from all walks of life can learn from one another."
Hope this helps some. I teach mathematics but I have had to write MANY critiques in high school and college and I can appreciate your confusion. Just relax! You CAN do this!
