basically, for every 0 that the number (hundredths or thousandths...) has, you have to have that many placed in the decimal. like for thousandths, 3 0s are necessary. then whatever the number is of them, you replace that many zeros as necessary with the number. like 15 thousandths - you put 000, then replace the last 2 0s with 15. get it?
