Today our society puts so much emphasis on working so hard for financial goals that people tend to put their family, friends , and social life on the back burner.

i believe that this modern world has become way to materialistic, after the pleasures in life always and often forgetting the seemingly less important things in life- such as family.
Jobs that take parents away from there homes early in the morning for traveling reasons and intern arrive home late are wrecking family lives worldwise.
Communication is breaking down already in this modern age with instant messaging, mobile phones, pagers, answering machines etc. All these appilences are good in different aspects of life but never should a job or devise take over the place of children, parents or friends, simply because we are too busy.
I agree I live in California and society sucks every century we have to put up with the inflation problems and I am only 30.. Is this how life was meant to be?? How can we get control!
