Answers:
5 x -7 = -35
_________
3 x 5 = 15
Simply by dividing each by 5 = -7/3 or - 2 1/3
Do the multiplication as if there were no +/- signs.
If there are two different signs ( onr + and one -) the answer will be negative.
If both signs are the same, the answer will be positive.
Ok, so first you need to do what's in the () first.
So you divide 7/5. When you have a negative and a positive, together, your answer needs to have a negative sign.
Then you put the answer you just got in the place of the ()
The equation should read: 5/3 x -1.4
So now you solve the equation left to right
First solve 5/3, which is 1.67 (rounded)
Then you put that into the problem and times it by -1.4
The answer is -2.338 and it's negative because it's a negative times a positive.
If it was a positive times a positive or a negative times a negative (same with dividing) the answer would be positive
Hopefully you understand this.
Good luck
