If for example you chose to do 'do males have bigger feet than females?' you would have to get a sample, of say 50 males and females shoe sizes, but it could be less!
You'd then have to put all the data into tables and stem and leaf diagrams to help you to analyse it! If you know how to do box plots, they make it easier because you can really see, how the medians and the inter quartile ranges differ!
But you could also widen your experiment, to not only if males have bigger feet than females, but if that changes with age? For example would a five year old male have bigger feet than a five year old female?
This sounds awfully confusing i know, i had to do it for coursework last year, except mine was are boys taller than girls except then the teacher made me broaden it and include age as well!
