Question:Which one effects the period of the pendulum weight, length of the string, or angle of the drop... keep in mind i am in 8th grade and i am using washers tied to a string so far my experiment has turned out to say that weight doesnt affect it as opposed to the other 2 affecting it by a slight bit to alot.. so any1 ?
Answers:
Length effects it.
This is because gravity exerts an equal downward pressure on all objects, and only changing the length of the string will actually change the arclength that the weight must travel.
The Period is affected only by the length and gravity.
The formula is
Period = 2(3.14)(Length/Gravity)^(1/2)
gravity is 9.8
