I have no clue on how to start it off. I don't know the four girls,
so how am I supposed to write a poem about them and their death?! Help?
Answers:
Isn't there a poem about them? Just research the Birmingham bombing of 1963. It shouldn't be hard.

This is a serious topic that deserves your best effort.
I suggest you go to the link I have provided below and read everything there.
If you take the time to read it all, you will get a good sense of the event, its impact on the community, and the personalities of the four girls who were killed.
After reading it, try to imagine what it would have been like to be a member of that community when the bombing occurred.
You don't have to have known the people to have feelings and thoughts about what happened. Consider: It happened at a church; the girls killed were 11 to 14 years old; it was an act of hatred and bigotry and cowardice; it shook the nation.
All the best.
