Analyze the impact of religion on the lives of the settlers in Puritan New England.?

Question:I have to write an essay on thsi subject, and I'm not really sure where to go. I have two points, but I can't think of a third.
~Puritan work ethic
~If you weren't a part of the church, you couldn't vote

any other suggestions?

Answers:
One thing I can think of---They're whole motivation for settling in North America originally was to run away from religious persecution in Europe. They wanted to create a religious utopia (naturally it didn't work as much as they had planned).
So religion was the main motivator for them.
