I need help with math please?

Question:graphing inequalities

3x-4y<12

Answers:
first you have to change this into y = mx + b format... the same way that you would do had the equation had an " = " sign.

3x - 4y < 12

subtract 12 from both sides... like this...

(3x - 4y) - 12 < 12 -12

combine "like" terms and you get...

3x - 4y - 12 < 0

add "4y" to both sides ... like this...

(3x - 4y - 12) + 4y < 0 + 4y

combine "like" terms to get...

3x - 12 < 4y

which is that same as saying 4y > 3x - 12

divide both side by 4 ... like so...

4y / 4 > (3x - 12) / 4

y > (3/4)x - 3

graph the line with a slope of 3/4 and that crosses the y-axis at -3.. at point (0, -3)

Then shade all of the area ABOVE the line... since you want to show that the shaded area is the solution of all the points where y > (3/4) x - 3

Hope this helps!
dam! I don't know that shiit yet lol sorry : (((((
h
3x-4y<12
-4y<12-3x
y<(12-3x)/-4<-3-3x/4
for x=0, y< -3
for x=4, y<-6
so trace a line between the points (0,-3), (4,-6)
3x-4y<12

first, put this in slope intercept form.

-4y<-3x+12

y>3/4x-3

okay, graph it like you would an equation with an equal sign.

your line should be this way /. and because it is an inequality that it is greater than and not equal to you need to make your line dotted instead of solid. than shade the area above the / . because every number in that area is a possible solution.

hope this makes atleast a little sense. oh, and i might be wrong. it's been a long time since i had math. hopefully someone else has a similar answer.
solve the equation for y
(y>3/4x+3)

then graph this as if it were a line y=3/4x+3 however since this equation is only a "greater than" not a "greater or equal to" this line should be dotted to show that the points landing exactly on this line are not included

now shade the portion of the graph where y>3/4x+3
(since it's a "greater than" equation it will be above the line)
3x-4y<12
3x-4y=12
3x=12+4y
3x=4(3+1y)
x=4(3+y)/3

then replace x in the original equation with
4(3+y)/3

example
3(4(3+y))-4y<12
3(12+4y)/3 minus 4y<12
12+4y-4y<12
12=12

meaning that x and y are zero or any number greater than zero in order for 3x-4y>12 to hold true. and x and y are to be negative in order for 3x-4y<12 to hold true
