Question:how do you set this up?
if six-tenths of a ton of coal costs $8.40,what would a five-ton load cost?

Answers:
if 6/10 of a ton is 8.40, then you should divide 8.40 by 6/10 o get the cost of a ton.. and then multiply it by ive to get the cost of five tons..
the equation is:
8.40/.6 = 14
14 x 5= 70
5 tons cost $70..
hope this helps...
ratios... .6 ton/$8.40 = 5 ton / x
