Question:30+1/3?=2
If 30 is added to 1/3 of a certain number,the result will be double that number.What is the number?plz help

Answers:
30 + (1/3)x = 2x
==> 30 + (1/3)x = (6/3)x
==> 30 = (5/3)x
==> 30 / (5/3) = x
==> 30 * (3/5) = x
==> 90 / 5 = x
==> 18 = x
let x be the number
30+(1/3)x = 2x
2x - (1/3)x = 30
remove denominator (multiply by 3)
6x - x = 30 x 3
5x = 90
x = 18
