jj
the correct sentense is: Someone like Mr. Link Deas did not mind having Tom and Helen Robinson work for him but Someone like Bob Ewell can not stand African-Americans and would take any chance to ridicule them.
the only thing wrong with it was mixing plural"some people" with "Mr. Link, and him" which are singular
Some people, like Mr. Link Deas, do not mind having Tom and Helen Robinson work for them; but some people, like Bob Ewell, can not stand African-Americans and would take any chance to ridicule them.

OR

Some people, like Mr. Link Deas, did not mind having Tom and Helen Robinson work for them; but some people, like Bob Ewell, could not stand African-Americans and would take any chance to ridicule them.
No this is not correct. I would consider this a run-on sentence if I were grading. Must it be one sentence? I would reword it like this:

Some people, like Mr. Link Deas, did not mind having Tom and Helen Robinson working for them. Some people, like Bob Ewell cannot stand African-Americans and would take any chance to ridicule them.

Can not should be contracted. And watch in the first sentence that you use correct pronouns. Your subject is "Some people" but then you use the pronoun "him."
The grammar is correct, but the sentence is pretty wordy and not as strong as it could be. Take out the extra words, leave in the important ones, and your sentence will be more powerful and easier to read.

Or split it into two sentences: Some people appreciated ... while others did not. For example, Mr. Link Deas. (with an example). On the other hand, Bob Ewell...(with an example).
work = worked
but some people = but other people
usually u put a comma before "but"

"...work for him, but some people..."
