Can anyone think of an issue from the statement "I am, what I am, because of where I am."?

Question:We have to choose an issue from it and write and essay on that issue.. any ideas?

Answers:
This statement is an example of situational ethics.

You are who you are. Your place should not determine your ethics.

That would be a topic to argue in a paper.
This sounds like a new format to the old nature versus nurture debate.
In other words: do we become what we are because of our own choices or because of the social environment we are brought up in.
Hope this sets your mental cogs whirling in a helpful direction!
