Decimal into fraction help algebra!??

Question:how do you write the decimal as a fraction in simplest form?
-0.26666 with only the 6 repeating?
thanks

Answers:
-0.266666666.
First break off the part that is not repeating
= -0.2 - 0.066666..

-0.2 can be written as a fraction
-0.2 = -1/5

-0.066666... = 6/90 = 1/15

-1/5 - 1/15
= -3/15 - 1/15
= -4/15

See the link below for a very good explanation.
26666 over 100,000 is the fraction, so divided by two is 13333 over 50,000, whether the minus sign is in front of it or not.
To answer this the value 0.266... is given the letter x. The calculation is as follows...

x = -0.2666.
so 10x = -2.666...
so 100x = -26.666...
10x - 100x = -26.666 - -2.666
so -90x = 24
so x = -24/90

-24/90 can be cancelled down to -4/15 which is your answer.

-0.2666. = -4/15
