Why are people surprised when I tell them what I like in school?

Question:I'm a girl going into eighth grade, and my favorite subjects in school are math and science. Some people, including my parents, give me weird looks when they ask what I like in school and I answer honestly. I don't get it.

Answers:
Don't worry what they think, when I was at school I loved maths and science. I also loved physical education and to tell the truth as a teenage girl more people seemed to find the latter the strangest.
I was truely an all rounder at school, I excelled at almost every subject (even english (despite my spelling) he he). But best of all no-one thought I was a geek :)
Just keep doing what you do best and don't worry your not that different there are plenty of us out there.
i love these subject
gurl u rule
ignore them let them think what they want
My guess is because the average 8th grader wouldn't say that these are their favorite subjects... that's okay, you're just an intelligent 8th grader =)
most people dont like school so its a suprise to most people that ou have favorites, but its good that you like things in schoo cuz it gives you something to lok forward to when school comes
lol. becuase our world has come to that. People taking education for granted, as well as other public things. I wish they'd realize how good we have it here.
I get the same reaction when I tell people I like history. Don't worry about what people think. I think it is because math and science are not usually peoples best classes.
