What is the symbol on packaging that looks like a open jar with a number like 3M inside it?

Question:

Answers:
I wondered this for years and only discovered the answer myself a few months ago. It is how long the product is good for after being opened (3M= 3 months) and so on.
It means that you should use the product within 3 months of opening. It is used on toilteries and face creams and stuff...
It's the length of time that you can keep the product and still use it once it has been opened. The best before date refers to how long the item lasts if it is unopened, so they put this on items that have either no best before date because they tend to last indefinitely if never opened, or items that have a very long best before date. 3M means 3 months.
Cheryl b is right there, i done the same thing about a year ago it bugged me so i found out them symbols are on everything you'll notice them more now!
It should be used within three months OR it takes at least three minutes to open the bloody jar... LOL
