New School, New Friends?

Question:I'm going to a new hich school, and I know no one there. I'd like to get to know people there, but whenever I try to bring up a conversation with someone, I blank out and can't think of a topic, or something to say.

It's the same whether I try to talk to the guys, or girls, I can't start a conversation.

Does anyone have any suggestions on some good conversations topics, that I can start with a stranger at my school?

I'm a freshmen, and I would like to get to know both the girls and the guys in my class, so any ideas would be appreciated.

ok its my first day at HS too and the best way to start a conversation with someone is to ask them what other classes they have or do they play a sport or are do they like HS so far. Just be nice and dont let it be a one sided conversation talk to them and tell them about yourself too.
