actually mcduff the AMOUNT if stars will play no part
the amount of stars that will show depends how big the flag is how big the stars are and how near or far apart the stars are positioned on the flag,
if the flag is folded (i AM assuming your meaning the US flag) correctly and precisely the corners of the triangle should be neat and no red showing on either side, just the blue canton with the stars on it,
another good tip when folding is on the very frist fold bring the fully striped half of the flag over the other half with stars on it but dont quite make the corners meet- leave a couple of inches (this depends on size of flag- id say 1 inch for 5x3 ft flag and 2 inch for 5x9,5 flag) of stars showing then continue the next horizontal fold to bring the stars back on the outisde and mett this fold with the nearest set of coners (basically so the 1 or 2 inch from before has no other layers of material over it)
that whay when you start folding traingles the corners of the tringle dont get to squashed and impossible to fold neatly,
All stars.
triaangular field with 9 stars on each side (actually 6 half
stars and 3 full stars on each side)
