Fair or NOT FAIR!?

Question:right, i've had a rotten cold since about saturday, and yesterday i went to school. no fuss. even though i felt terrible.
so this morning, i asked my mum for a note so i wouldn't have to do P.E., and she said no because it was the first lesson back. i just felt too sick to do P.E, and it was tennis, which i adore!
so do you think my mum refusing to write me a note was fair or not?

Answers:
It doesn't matter what anybody thinks. She is your Mum and she is right about everything
Get over it! At the end of the day it was just a cold and you weren't dying.
Sorry but.. Fair.
She's your mum, she loves you and she is doing what she thinks [ as a mum ] is best for you.
Bit of sport will get you fit quicker, it might make you tied but. what's wrong with that ?
Hope you feel fully recovered soon.
Hi abbyacid
Deal with it and move on,
Who says "fair" has anything to do with it? You may as well argue that it isn't fair that you caught the cold or that it isn't fair that you have to have PE at all, or even that it isn't fair that you have to have a note from "Mum."

The question here really is: Who gets to determine whether or not you are too sick to play tennis today? Obviously, your Mum thinks you are well enough. If you disagree, perhaps you could complain to the PE teacher or to the school nurse and see what they think. In the end, it comes down to how you show up on the court. Nobody can force you to return service.
if you were that poorly she should have made you stay in bed.
Well your Mum has done what she thought was right in the circumstances but I suppose another way might be to maybe have written a note to say that you hadn't been well and still weren't feeling 100% but you were allowed to do P.E. but if the teacher could see you weren't well enough and struggling a bit that she could use her discretion as to whether she excuse you from the lesson or not. It's difficult to know what us Mums should do sometimes and it's inevitable that sometimes our kids don't agree with us or vice versa, it's just life!
Who sets 'fair' and 'not fair'?

You're mum did what she thought was best - the fact that I don't agree with her decision is neither here nor there - she is your mum and, as such, she has control over certain situations.

As your teacher must know you love tennis - did you not tell THEM you didn't feel up to it? They might have been more sympathetic.
