Question:I am a sophomore in high school and an aspiring surgeon. I was nominated by my school counselor for the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine (NYLF/MED) this year, and I am considering attending if I am able to receive a scholarship or other funding. The program sounds enlightening in terms of providing insight into medical careers and in the depth and breadth that it encompasses many pertinent aspects and fields of medicine.
I would appreciate feedback or responses on the program from former attendants, other nominees, etc. Would you recommend the NYLF (please elaborate on why or why not)? Do you have any suggestions on how to obtain necessary funds or fundraising ideas to attend the forum? Any responses and input would be greatly appreciated.

I just don't know how I am going to fund the event or if I will go at all.
