Everyone tutors differently. When it comes to reading and writting most people assume if you've passed kendergarden then you should know how to do both, and there fore are being lazy. Thats why you get the do it yourself. Where with math, sometimes its harder to explain how to do a math problem with out actually doing it yourself. Sometimes you get people who know how to help, and others who think they do. If your having problems and the TA or tutor isn't acutally helping you let them know, maybe you need something more visual, or less etc. Thats what they are there for, and if no one tells them they are doing it wrong they can't fix it. Maybe they are teaching the way its easiest for them to learn.
Absolutely. Maybe the reasoning for people helping with a math problem more so than a reading or writing assignment is that it's alot easier to show the steps in a math problem whereas reading and writing requires you to do just that...read and write. I've seen people explain the math problem before answering it. Giving a summary cuts out alot of time as compared to 1 math problem.
If a person cannot explain how to work out a math problem, they should not be answering the question. The some goes for any other type of homework, the key is the person asking for help needs to know how to answer the question not just the answer. No wonder our schools are failing our children.
Get over yourself...Honestly if you have a problem with how people are answering these questions then don't even open them. Is it your homework...(NO)...Is it your education...(NO)...So get over it and quit bitching about it.
