I used a ti83 plus and it lasted me through all my math and science classes and don't worry, the work isn't difficult. I breezed through pre cal with a A. I'm not even sure you need a special cal for geometry because you mainly deal with shapes. I goofed off allthe time and still graduated with A+ GPA. The 83 plus also comes with a a cable so you link it up the other 83's to tranfer files or games. You'll have a blast in high school
the Ti83 plus will do for everything you need at highschool, the only difference between that and the 84 is the 84 has 3D graphing, which you will not need in highschool. Get the 83 you can get some sweet programs for it off the internet that will solve quadratics and do long devision with working and all sorts of things. just remember that for the science exams they will usually clear your memory before you go in so dont try and put science programs on.
any of 'em wll work just fine.
Buy what you can afford and take good care of it, it is (or soon will be) your friend!
ti84 or the first one if i had to pick i would pick ti84. My theroy is the newer model allways wins.my math teacher got the ti83plus but ti84 all the way.
Ti-84 Silver--they are all pretty similar, but for a little extra money, you can have a lot of extra storage space, and your calculator will work a lot faster if you get the TI-84. I own a TI-84 Silver and a TI-83+, so I know what I am talking about.
Certainly make sure you buy one of these three--they all work the same way, with the same button commands, and your teachers will be teaching you how to do things on a Ti-83+ or Ti-84 or a TI-84 silver calculator. Might as well have the extra features that the TI-84 has. Also, you can still hook up the 84 to the 83 for games.
Go with the TI-84 Silver. The post above explained its advantages well. You want a calculator that is going to serve you well into the future so your investment in it pays off. Good luck.
