College and Family?

Question:My mother wants me to go to Purdue University and whatnot... I got accepted and I would not have a problem going if they allowed me to have a car. Purdue University is 2 hrs away from home and I do not want to be stuck out there with no way home. Now I understand that I can make friends and whatnot to get to take me home, but lord knows how long it would take for me to meet or even build a relationship with them to do something like that for me. Instead, i would rather go to another Purdue Campus (Calumet) where it is 15 away from my home and close to the city (Chicago) where all my family and friends live, plus i can have a car. My mother disagrees with me, but I am not really sure what her arguement is... she just keeps saying,"NO! GO TO WEST LAFAYETTE! THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING OUT THERE!" That was before she knew she could only get $25 back out of the $175 she sent to them (West Lafayette). Then she got even more mad. What should I do? Satisfy mom or satisfy myself?

Answers:
Mom wants you out. Just get out and go to college. She will accept it. Maybe stay close the first year and then transfer. But give mom her space.
