Im seriously thinking of studying medicine in the Dominican Republic. Is it a good idea?

Question:Recently I decided to study Medicine in the Dominican Republic. Its more affortable and I'll finish in less time. However, its a different culture, language, and living style. Adjusting wont be a problem because Im of Dominican decent and i was recently there for vacation. I speak fluent spanish and can also read and write. The problem is that certain people think is not a very good idea. Ive actually done some reasearch and every year more U.S student go to caribbean countries to study Medicine. What do you think?

Answers:
Hello: Because you are already fluent in Spanish and are of Dominican descent, you should have no problem succeeding in your medical career studying in the Dominican Republic. As a matter of changes occuring in the US, you should also have no problem getting the residency here in terms of working in a hospital if you get your training both in English and Spanish.

I think you should go for it because you may not get this opportunity again.

Good luck in your endeavors.
Sounds like you're a good candidate to study in the DR. Go for it. I like Punta Cana.
