Why do Jews try to provide Jewish concepts and lifestyle in Public schools?

Question:Here is today's article on Yahoo:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070812/ap_o...
These are the public taxes-our money. Don't we send enough money( 6-10 billion dollars) to Israel, every year?
Are they carazy,or they are trying to insult other people's belief's?Why do 95% of Americans need to follow and study something that only 5% of the population belives in?
That is outrageous.
No other religions are as impudent and irrelevant as Jewish religion is.

Answers:
IF you had actually READ the article, you would have seen the statement that while the food is kosher (which anyone can eat, for all practical purposes it means that meat and dairy aren't mixed, there is no shell fish, and there is no pork (or alligator) on the menu - there is no 'blessing' done on food, by rabbis or anyone else, food either is, or isn't kosher, and can't be changed to kosher, if it isn't to begin with) and there will be classes in hebrew language, and culture, there are no classes in religion, no bible, no prayers, nothing of that nature.
and, jews, btw, don't proselytize. we don't want your souls, we don't want you to follow our religion. we're happy if/when you follow your own religion, and allow us to do the same, to follow ours. also, if you looked, you'd see that the area where the ONE SCHOOL is located has a large jewish population (who just might be sick of their kids having christmas shoved down their throats, among other things)

and, where are you getting your figures? from the ether? as far as "95% of americans need(ing) to follow and study something .." how do you figure that hollywood, florida has 95% of the population of florida, much less the entire country?

you are a hysteric, a bigot, and are trying to be a rabble-rouser. and few other people are as impudent and as irrelevant as you are.
OK, we'll forget for the moment that you're a small-minded bigot. I will quote from the rest of the article that you cite:

There are already numerous foreign language-centered public schools around the country, including Arabic ones that have drawn questions of whether they are Islamic schools in disguise.

New York City has a new public high school centered on Arab language and culture due to open next month. The Khalil Gibran International Academy has prompted concerns that Islam will seep into the curriculum. Critics have even suggested it could become a breeding ground of militant Islam.

At the Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy in Inver Grove Heights, Minn., many of the girls wear head scarves and many children fast during Ramadan. That charter school's executive director, Asad Zaman, said state officials made frequent visits after its 2003 opening to ensure religion was not a part of the curriculum.

Hallandale Beach resident Margaret Schorr is sending her daughter Hannah to kindergarten at Ben Gamla and said she was told clearly the girl would not receive any religious education. She thinks concerns have been valid, but have ignored the fact that religion already has a place in public schools.

"If I were to send her to any other public school, you better believe that come December, she'd be learning Christmas carols," she said. "You better believe that they'd be wearing Halloween costumes at the end of October."

Blocked and flagged. You're a pathetic waste of space.
They get away with this because the government is allowing it. When the situation gets out of hand than it's too late.
The public sending their kids to this school are in support of it.
