I live in Tx and all of the places in my area have a minimum age of 18, but sometimes you can get volunteer work like that at 16 or 17 if you have worked with kids before. But just look up the bigbrother/bigsister program and they can get in touch with someone in your area to give you all the specific details. good luck and I hope you stick with it, mentoring is a great thing!
