Difference between English and Scottish school system?

Question:What are the most differences between English and Scottish school system?

Answers:
The biggest difference is that the english system encourages in depth study in a smaller range of subjects, where as the Scottish system encourages study of a wider range of subjects in less detail. For this reason degrees in Scotland usually take 4 years, but advanced more specialised exams can allow people to start in the second year of the course.

Theres lots more minor differences as well, for instance what each regard as the essentials in each subject.
