Have you ever cheated? I never cheat in university, but I never handed in a paper I wrote myself in high school. Half the time it would work, the other half of the time I'd fail the assignment. I did cheat occasionally on tests in high school too because I was bored and I knew high school doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things and wanted to see if I could get away with it. Of course, is it cheating if you already know the answer but are copying someone else just because you can?
Answers:
I see people cheating on tests all the time. Never thought to tell on them though. I figure being clever enough to dupe an eagle-eyed professor will get someone as far in the real world as knowing what year the Battle of Hastings occured in anyway, so it's not my place to narc.
I cheated a few times in high school, but when I got to college, I started getting scared of being caught and losing my scholarships, so I straightened out.
Copying another's paper is cheating, whether you already know the answer or not. Besides, what's the point, if you already know the answer anyway?
I cheated in H.S. because it was easy to do and everyone was doing it. College was different. I would never cheat there. Once I was flunking a math test, and they gave everyone a different test. As fate would have it a guy had the same test in front of me and was literally holding it up in my face checking the answers. I just couldn't cheat. I was an adult by then and knew I was just cheating myself and not learning anything. I did see someone cheating but didn't tell. She got caught and ended up getting expelled. She lived in my dorm and was nice, but got in on a minority scholorship and didn't have the educational background to keep up.
It's an issue of being true to yourself because eventually all this cheating can and WILL catch up to you. The whole idea of doing the work is to learn from it anyway, so what exactly do you benifit from cheating?I guess you can choose between doing something youself and learning from it but getting a low grade for it, or getting someone else to do the work for you and getting good grades(not necessarily) but not learning from it..
But having said all of this, I was an expert cheater back in High school, but yeah, I dont do it in college now anymore because it doesnt help and cheating doesnt help a thing here in college coz you're the one going to the final exams at the end so..been there , done that, and learnt from it;-)
Good luck to you too.
I dont cheat. Just dont want too. Besides my hs is tough and youll get kicked out if they find you cheating at all. I have seen kids cheat before though.
