How does the Montessori system work??

Question:of all the kids i know who went there,
they are REALLY smart.
they seem to retain information
better that anyone else.
how do they teach??
what goes on in the classroom?

Answers:
It is a very child centered approach to teaching. The teachers observe each child's likes and dislikes and using that information, they ensure the children are exposed to multiple subjects. It really is an amzing thing to observe when children begin to love learning. The curriculum is pretty advanced, but they are never supposed to push the kids beyond what they are ready for.
