Everything you have in your bedroom at home. It's not anything special.
Your own pillow! A computer. A lock to lock up your stuff from your roommates who may like to go through your things.
Computer, bowls, plates, utensils, george foreman, toaster, cups, food, blankets, pillows, money:)
clothes, photos, personal things like diary, etc
condoms and M&M's
CPU, laptop, mini fridge, extra pillow, quilt, james dean poster, foot locker, combination lock.
Your Stuff..
A laptop for sure and some "Goodies", as "FOOD"
protection, my clothes, my laptop, and money
If you are going to have a "mystery-picked by the dorm gods" roommate, invest in a surveillance camera. You will also need a refrigerator and a microwave. A computer would really help too. But the number one thing you will need is house shoes. You don't know WHAT is on that FLOOR!
Beer, Liquer, Shot Glasses, Clothes, Pillow and Blanket, and most importantly, CONDOMS!!
A DICTIONARY
Thefts do occur in dorms, so I wouldn't bring anything valuable except for the things like computers (back up your files!) that you really need to have for class. (If you need to bring anything really valuable/irreplaceable, look into having it insured.) If you have "personal" files, get software that will encrypt them, like PGP.
you can check with student services at the college you are going to attend. They have a list of stuff that you absolutely hae to have and the extra things that are nice to have. Plus they will give you the list of contraband that cannot be brought. Stock up on ear plugs though (they aren't on our list) if you like quiet!
Find out what things will be commonly available in the suite, such as a television, microwave, fridge, laundry facilities, etc., but concentrate on essentials that you use everyday, such as your bathrobe, bedding (pillows, sheets) and other things that are important for comfort.
Also, since you'll be away from home, it might be nice to include a few personal items that are special to you: a favorite poster, a small potted plant, framed photos of family, pets, etc.
Sheets, pillow, comforter, kitchen utensils, microwave, tiny fridge, CD player & tunes, clothes, comfy pjs & slippers, computer, small book shelf,a Bible, Dad's credit card, your sense of humor and a great attitude!
Study well, and Enjoy this time in your life!
The 10 best things I took to my first dorm room: 1. Very good bedding; 2. small fridge; 3. small safe (Costco and Sam's have them); 4. clock radio; 5. area rug (the floors are usually gross); 6. Shower caddy (so all your bath things can stay together easily - especially if you have to walk down the hall to the baths; 7. hotplate (George Foreman is probably popular now); 8. little fridge; 9. A thin blanket because sometimes a drape is needed - if you need extra privacy; 10. small tv. It wouldn't hurt to also have a thick skin and a sense of humor.
If you know your future roommate, you can divide up the fridge and hotplate. Have fun!
Your own furniture, food, music, computer, pictures. Yea that should do it for you.
