There are lots of great poems out there and Shel Silverstein - Where the Sidewalk ends (just one of his collections of poems) is a great favorite of kids that age (Sister for sale is real popular but there are tons and tons of them.).
Here are twp of my favorites is from a book called, "Noisy Poems" collected by Jill Bennett
This one's called,
"On the Ning Nang Nong" by Spike Milligan.
On the Ning Nang Nong
Where the Cows go Bong!
And the Monkeys all say Boo!
There's a Nong Nang Ning
Where the trees go Ping!
And the tea pots Jibber Jabber Joo.
On the Nong Ning Nang
All the mice go Clang!
And you can't catch 'em when they do!
So it's Ning Nang Nong!
Cows go Bong!
Nong Nang Ning!
Trees go Ping!
Nong Ning Nang!
The mice go Clang!
What a noisy place to belong,
Is the Ning Nang Ning Nang Nong!
(I think you will like the flow of this one and the ease of memorizing it.)
Jack Prelutsky has a lot of good ones too. Here's one of his from the same book (Noisy Poems) although he has many of his own collections in print.
Spaghetti! Spaghetti!
By Jack Prelutsky (pronounced Pre- lutz- ski)
Spaghetti! spaghetti!
you're wonderful stuff,
I love you, spaghetti,
I can't get enough.
You're covered with sauce
and your sprinkled with cheese,
spaghetti! Spaghetti!
oh, give me some more please.
Spaghetti! spaghetti!
piled high in a mound,
you wiggle, your wriggle,
you squiggle around.
There's slurpy spaghetti
all over my plate,
spaghetti! spaghetti!
I think you are great.
Spaghetti! spaghetti!
I love you a lot,
you're slishy, you're sloshy,
delicious and hot.
I gobble you down
oh, I can't get enough,
spaghetti!spaghetti!
you're wonderful stuff.
The only tricky line in this one is the last one in the first stanza "oh, give me some more please". You need to practice your timing on that line so you are hitting the beat right.
That's it, did you like them? (Get the book if you can because the pictures are fun.)
Remember that poetry should be expressive and can be fun.

How about this one?:
Boa Constrictor
Oh, I'm being eaten
By a boa constrictor,
A boa constrictor,
A boa constrictor,
I'm being eaten by a boa constrictor,
And I don't like it--one bit.
Well, what do you know?
It's nibblin' my toe.
Oh, gee,
It's up to my knee.
Oh my,
It's up to my thigh.
Oh, fiddle,
It's up to my middle.
Oh, heck,
It's up to my neck.
Oh, dread,
It's upmmmmmmmmmmffffffffff . . .
Shel Silverstein
Sorry it's not two minutes long, but it's cute!
