If you learned life lessons, changed or matured and because of those changes you are better equipped for success in college, talk or write about it. They want to know who you are, not just what you did. You should shine shine through your writing. The story is a jumping off point for them to learn about you. Maybe mention it and select a moment or event that wowed or changed you. They don't want a travelogue. They want YOU!
