Freshman Year?? Please help!!?

Question:Ok, this year im gonna b a freshman I'm taking Biology, geometry, and spanish 1. I love love love theater so i was thinking i should take drama instead of spanish but the counselor said that was a bad idea because most people who get n2 UC schools have 4 years of language. Also, if i take drama i can't do community theater which i do TONS of and love it. But I don't want to over load my self with tons of academics and get super stressed cause i do tons of after school stuff. I go to a really hard private christian school which has TONS of homework. : -( What do u think i should do? Please don't say to quit after school stuff.

Taking 4 years of a language is a great idea. It makes you stand out more when you apply to colleges, so definitely do it! Maybe you can do drama or some other elective next year if you have space. It's good to take some non-academic electives for fun, but colleges do prefer academic classes. You just have to learn to balance your time.
all right i just got passed freshman.. it was a great year.. but for you i think you should follow your heart and do what you think you should do. you say you love drama so go with that.. you will get to language. and by the way geometry very fun :)
Do what your heart desire. People can only give you advises. The more you hear, the more confusing you are.

Your have to make your own decision.

Alternative, you can listen to one person only. In this case, your counselor.
If you want to go to a university, then take spanish. In the first year you don't get to take too many interesting classes. You should be able to take drama later in high school.
go with theater and if you want or if you can do; Spanish and any other required fields in summer school. if your school doesn't have a summer school see if your parents will allow you to go to a public school for summer school. it might cost you money but you will keep your love for theater.
Actually the UCs require a performing/visual art class from you and theater would satisfy that. So at some point you will have to take an art class, so you might as well take the class you love. As four Spanish, you can skip one year. I've known UC kids with 3 or less years of foreign language. The actual requirement is 2 years of foreign language from a UC.
Hmm. Actually UC schools only require two years of a foreign language, but recommend three. I'm taking three years of Spanish. You should've started in middle school, unless you're school didn't have the Spanish elective. I'm going into 5-6 for Spanish and I'm also a Freshman.
