Answers:
I'm not any of those professionals you mentioned, but I'm the mother of four, some of whom learned easily most of the time and one who is struggling and just may not make it anyway.

One of my kids is really good at math--he ended up in a profession that demands excellent math skills--and even he came up against some things that were really difficult for him. He kept an attitude of seeing the work as a puzzle that he'd get and he never moved into stressed-out mode. It sounds like you're already there, though. If I tell you to relax would you listen to me? Probably not, but I'm going to tell you that anyway.

Please see that high school studies are just PART of your life and being a student is PART of you. Distinctions are wonderful and it feels so good to be singled out, but that special feeling will last only a few days and once you get to the next part of your life, the distinctions aren't all that important anymore. Your health, both physical and mental is what will carry you long after the distinctions are just notations in a yearbook that you don't look at very often.

I think that when we get all tied up in knots of stress our brains aren't able to function at their best. Our minds are subject to our bodies (and vice-versa too, I guess); it's important for you to take care of your physical self--decent food, daily exercise, some "down time", and definitely enough sleep. When we sleep, our brains organize what we've learned during the day and sort through it, though we are not conscious of it. Musicians find that the skills they worked so hard at and so unsuccessfully at during the day somehow get results the NEXT day, after they've slept on it.

Take it easier. Get some suggestions for tutors from your teachers, if you need tutoring, but the best thing you can do for yourself is to give yourself regular time to look outside of those books and see the world you're studying about. You want to stay in a productive mode for the long haul, not just for the next two years. Teenagers have a lot to learn, but most of it, and the most important of it, is not in books.

I really hope you'll take my advice. I wish you a happier life and much success.
