Question:I have plans of graduating early next year and before starting college I wanted to take some sort of physics since I think I would find that more interesting than chemistry. I didn't take chemistry this year however, (I am taking intergrated physics and chemistry) and I want to know if it would be a bad choice not to ever take a chemistry class. I do have all the math prerequisites (since I'm taking alg. II) for physics. So which class is more important or better to take? The schedule for graduating early only leaves me room to take one and I wouldn't want to double up on two science classes anyway.
Answers:
Without a doubt, it would be Physics. Although you should familiarize yourself with some basic Chemistry, the Physics class along with your Mathematical background will get you much further. Even if you were to move into a Medical Major later in college, the Chemistry they teach in HS is pure and simple theorems. Physics will give you better observational and lab procedural skills.
Chemistry in my opinion is more fun while still challenging and rewarding. I don't know much about Physics but I here it's difficult and boring to the average person. Of course if you really enjoy the science of Physics, you might actually have a good time in the class. If your wondering which is more beneficial to your future then I can't exactly help you much there.
I find higher-level chemistry to be easier than higher-level physics.
