You take classes. About 4 or 5 classes at any one time. You get grades. ABC and D are passing grades. F is failure. You have to pass most of your classes. Your state may require you to pass physical education. Your state may require you to pass some kind of "state wide graduation standard test."

You have to complete a certain number credits. In my highschool, there was the normal graduation which required, say, 200 credits and then there was graduation with honors which required a little more like 230 credits. You could get that by summer school and AP classes I think. And you also have to take enough credits in the correct classes like you have to have a certain number of years in math and so on. Metal shop won't cut it for you whole high school career!
