Well in high school, things are a lot bigger. Like the students, teachers, and buildings. You also get more homework than junior high but don't let that get you down. Millions of students like you are entering high school for the first time. And it can be scary. But just relax. Just be yourself and you can make some life-long friendships. You can make some friends by joining in some after school clubs and sports. And also just by talking to the person beside of you. You can compliment on something they have to strike up a conversation. Also, in high school, you know you have more homework than junior high. So be prepared to do that. Be organized and don't procrastinate. Doing that will make you feel behind in your classes and you can't catch up. Just pay attention to your teacher's lectures, take good notes, and do your homework first before crashing onto the computer. Have a schedule with you or a to-do list. Prioritized your things and tackle big assignments one at a time. And have some fun too. High school is one of the best years of your life. Make it like that and you will enjoy high school.
When I was a sophomore last year, I was scared too. Hey I was the shortest person in my high school. But I got used it and now, I'm used to being around taller people.
good luck!
I was homeschooled the past two years. I am now going to public for 11th. I know how you feel. Don't worry though! Try meeting some people who go there! They can be a ton of help. I met this girl who is a senior at my new school.. and she has been completely amazing! I am so glad I decided to go back to school! And at my highschool.. you aren't put into classes by your grade.. just by what course your taking! So I'll have classes with Freshmen, Sophmores, Juniors & Seniors.. although I'm a Junior! Best of luck!
You should join all the clubs and activities you can. It's a great way to meet people.
Hello.
Relax. It'll be fine. I vvas in a similar situation that you are going to be in. I vvas in J.H.S. for 9th grade then vvent to H.S. beginning in the 10th grade. A lot of my peers from J.H. did go to the same H.S. though, so I did start off knovving some people. Hovvever, there are alvvays nevv people in High School. Some are from Junior High as I vvas, and some are transfer students. Even seniors transfer. Not all of the 10th graders vvill knovv each other, even if they had class together before. They may be still getting to knovv them as they vvould a nevv student such as yourself.
Hope that helps relieve you. You must be excited! Best vvishes. Take care.
VVhen you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. VVhen you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That's relativity.

just be yourself. nuetralise. just look cute and be simple. dont wanna attract the wrong kind of attention/ppl. dress nicely and put yourself together. be friendly, not eager tho. not overly perky! just go neutral! so no one can identify you as "this" sort of girl or "that" sort of girl. ppl will wanna get to know who u r. when u have a foundation ready. then u can start building on u image. and start expresing your self. u know. show ur colours. (which i hope arnt ugly LOL) =D good luck with it
Join stuff you can, you'll meet new people. As for getting lost, don't worry about, even the 10th graders are going to have new teachers and probably be in different classrooms, so you wont have to worry about being the only one lost. Teachers will be flexible for the first week or so. Don't worry about being the "new kid" every school has had a new kid before so most kids are used to it so they won't treat you like crap. Get to know the teachers, the more you get to know them the easier they'll be on you.
Good Luck!
