Does anyone know of any CNA classes that are available in Austin, TX?

Question:My best friend is a single mom who works 2 jobs and wants to become a CNA. She doesn't have the money right now to take the class at ACC, and around my hometown there are places, such as nursing homes, that offer the classes as paid training in agreement that you will work for them for a certain period of time after. Is there anything similar to this available here in Austin, or is there some sort of finacial assistance available? Any information would be a great help.

Answers:
she's probably going to want to do some kind of online program. those are the only ones that offer the kind of freedom she's going to need in order to complete the courses
you might want to look into the Texas Workforce Centers around your area in Austin, I live in Tx also about an hour away from Austin, but the Workforce Centers have many programs available to train for CNA, RN, and many other career opportunities. I did the CNA training through them, and didnt have to pay for a single thing. They will pay your tuition, books, testing and license fees. That would be a great starting point to get information not only on CNA but other training opportunities and they offer job search help and many other great resources to start off. Good luck!
