Is the standard paper students used in school really made from trees?

Question:I am curious about this long-debated theory. I often have students say, you just killed a tree by wasting that paper. How much of the paper is really from a tree?

Answers:
all paper srarts out as pulp which is trees,The only other is recycled paper
You're kidding, right? "Long-debated"? By whom?

The answer is "all of it".
Sure, some of it may be recycled, but a) the paper that was recycled came from a tree, and b) recycled paper isn't 100% recycled.

And yes, there are "specialty" papers made from grasses (the most famous of which is "rice paper") and vines, and even from cotton. But you won't find these papers used for mundane purposes such as for student consumption.

Now you don't literally "kill a tree" by wasting a piece of paper. But it's a fact that a tree died to make that piece of paper that you wasted.

And that is indebatable.
