Full/part time hours?

Stupid question but how masses hours a week does a person hold to work to be considered part time/full time? I work 40 hours a week right presently (full time). My reason for asking this query is that I am planning on going to school full time for my ending 2 years so I can pound it out and get it done and over next to, instead of trying to do it at night and such. I'm going to own to still work, but obviously smaller number to go to academy full time. I need to be considered "full time status" to save my insuarnce. Now I googled this and answered ranged from its up to the employer because their are no law stating regulations on hours to all kind of different numbers. Does it change from state to state or is it really only just up to the employer? If anyone can help me out next to this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Answers:    I think it depends on what state you live contained by. In some companies it is 30 hours or more for full-time. But in one where on earth I used to work it was 38 hours for full-time.
Go on your states labor dept. website and it should communicate you, or call them.
