How much does an entry level R.N. make ?

Question:like right out of college with an associates

Answers:
My S.O. is an RN with an associates. She earned about $45,000 her first job, which was at a private hospital. She's been a nurse for about three years now, and when I did her taxes last year, she had made $59,000. That's regular pay plus lots of overtime and on-call pay for working at a different private hospital. One year in there, she worked at a non-profit clinic. I think she made about $23/hr at that job.
It also depends where you live. The demand is great for nurses but traveling nurses can make big bucks. The thing is you need one yr experience and then you can start to make a decision of where to go from there. If you sign on the a hospital right away you might want to hold off signing on to a contract that says you will work for them for 2 or 3 yrs. because they will give you a bonus. I think you will make the least if you go to peoples houses. And the most if you moved to Alaska. but Alaska pays high because it costs so much to live there. Washington has a high rate as Idaho is way lower. You should be able to go to the hospitals on-line, look up careers in their site and see what they are offering in pay. If you no the name of a newspaper in a area you can look on-line and see if they post their classified adds and look what they are paying. There is also a site for nurses on-line that may be a help too. Hope this helps!
