The best way is to work smart and not hard. I would definately e-mail the guy who's talking about the memory diary. Building up your memory is definately a great help for studies.
I understand that sometimes working hard is not enough - so you have to work hard in the right places (working smart). Get a copy of your syllabus or outcomes that you are ultimately supposed to learn and will be tested on. Learn those and their supporting material.
Get organised and write about certain concepts, terms and calculations that you may be tested on and keep points about each of these neatly in a book so that you can refer back to them.
Plan to do only the work that you need and don't over do it. If you don't understand something, read over it again and if you still don't understand it then contact someone as soon as you can. Use the other people that are there to help and they will make things clearer for you so that you don't waste your time.
Finally, if there is any pressure on you to do well then make sure to get some sort of a hobby if you don't have one. This can be really good for relieving stress.
Be focused on your objective and don't over stress if you get a bad mark in something, just keep positive.

Do your homework! Read your assignments, turn in your papers on time, study for finals well in advance and throughout the term, take notes, review often.

Work hard, Hard and HARD. Read everything fully not leaving anything. Dont schedule urself for doing this or that it may not work out well. After reading 1 question please do WRITE without seeing (writing the answer from ur mind). After writing all questions just read out the questions by seeing the book.
Then don't leave objective type questions as easy one, it will pull u back from reaching centum.
TOTALLY: Give equal importance to all parts especialy to nook and corner and my friend there is no doubt that u will touch the success in from of 100%
