My son just started 6th grade and he was told not to bother with binders because the lockers at school were just too small to have one for every subject.
Are binders on your supply lists?
If so, by all means, take one. But, they come in various sizes. So, maybe you should wait until your teachers give you their supply lists. You may not want to go out and buy one and then not use it. Save your money for paper, pencils, etc.
Congratulations. And I guess you should ask your teacher, that way you won't have any doubts.
Some schools require a binder, wait till the first day of school and they will tell you what you need. Don't waste your money on one if you don't need it
I would get a 1" binder with dividers for each subject. By 6th grade, most school are sending kids to different class rooms and different teachers for different subjects. I would start out with a simple 1" binder, and if you see that they are giving you more paper, I would upgrade to a 1 1/2" binder... It doesnt hurt to be over prepared. The worst they will tell you is that you do not need one.you wont get into trouble for having one! :0) Good Luck this year!!
sure! I had a one big binder for everything in 6th grade!
