Question:For my English assignment, we have to write a children's book. It has to be at least 6 pages long. I know, it sounds way easy, but here's the catch. We have to use a general idea and then make it our own. For example, Toy Story. There have been a lot of stories where toys come to life, but they took that idea, and made their own story out of it. Do you have any suggestions I can use? Thanks.

You could go for a real classic fairytale like Hansel and Gretel or Rapunzel and bring it up to date.
You could set it nowadays, and change the characters and scenarios; jazz it up a bit.
My favorite was a little book about a little girl and her teddy bear. I wore out several copies of that book. You could expand on that idea.
