To do this in Autocad 2004 (Other versions also has this capability I quess..)
1] See all drawing on Screen & go to FILE > PLOT..
2] On Plot Device TAB select your Printer...
3] Go to Plot Settings TAB.. You will see a lot of sections below
4] Papersize & Paper Units : then Select the Paper Size .
Then Plot Area > WINDOW
then the Plot window lets you to select the area with cursor using click & drag method and creating a rectangle containing the part that you wanted to print on drawing...
5] Plot Scale : There is 2 selection , in first you may select the print scale... But in Autocad there are so much possibilities [ You may have been drawn everyting with 1 unit>1 cm. rule OR 1 unit > 1 mm rule or 1 unit > 1 meter rule so I don't use this .. I use the classic complicated way of defining the units on the drawings as milimeters that I want to see on the printed paper. LIKE : in scale 1/50 , 100 units that has been drawn using 1 unit >1 cm Rule, it should be printed on paper as 20 mm / 2 cm. Below the plot scale you can adjust your print scale this way...
i believ its in the bottom right corner of the screen, if u change it it prints in tht scale... i think, however, u wen u print, i had to zoom out so i was viewing it at the right scale, or sumthin
