You have the right attitude. In this case keep the thought that you want to show hoers that they were wrong.

A few obvious things that you can do are:

Do your work were every night.

Finish all your work. Don't put it off.

Work on your papers as soon as you receive them, Time goes by quickly.

Try and do your work at the same time each day.

Review your work frequently.

Ask questions in class.

Study with someone else if you can avoid socializing instead of studying.

Study with someone who knows more than you do.

Have all your materials at hand when you study.

No music or other distractions when you study. You need QUIET.

Use the Internet to help you with your answers.

You can get quality help at ww.pathwhelp.com and wwwjiskha .com.

Get to know and be friendly with a school librarian. They can help you in many ways.

Do not put things off. I know that this tip is repetitious but it is very important.

Have friends who will encourage you to do your best.

In studying look for the big picture and ask yourself how does this fit into the topic or what is the relationship between this and something else.

Carefully define all word and phrases.

You will get help with definitions at Google. Write in the search engine define: (and then the word). Place quote around a phrase so that the word are not separated during the search.

When looking at a site in the computer press Control F on a PC. This will bring up a box. Enter the word. Instead of reading the whole page the word that you want will be highlighted.

Maybe you could make your own notes from each class everyday, written in your own words and revise them every while. This way you will check your self about what you remember and you will refresh them so that during exams you will not have to study very much. maybe you could do the studying fun. sometimes i change the lyrics of a song i like putting things from my classes and that helps me remember them, or i find similar names to help me remember them. I didnt help much but that is only i can think of, just believe in your self and believe you can do it and everything will fall into place. Good luck
im not in college or anything so i dont know how thats gonna be but listening to music seriously helps me concentrate. as long as its not reading. but if its studying then i just turn up some music and im good :) it puts me in a better mood so i get more motivated to do the work. this might just be me though... a lot of people need like complete silence to concentrate.
good luck :)
