What literary works are good examples to use on the SAT writing section?

Question:The only books I can think of are the ones by
- Shakespeare
- Dickens

I often find myself stumped by a prompt/question because I have trouble coming up with examples. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

The most useful book I've found is Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter. I've used it on the SAT as well as AP Language exams; it seems to apply to many situations.
