I'm a senior in Highschool and I'm thinking of becoming a phycologist but I'm not sure how long it would take?

Question:school wise that is. i dont want to be a phychiatrist b/c of the MD degree and all that but i just wanted some info on how many years and if you know any good schools. I really want to help people.

To become a psychologist you will need a PhD Psychology ... if you do it at the 'standard lowest rate' of schooling, it's four years to your Bachelor's Degree, two years to you Master's Degree, and another two years to your PhD. It can take up to four-six years for each of the 'advanced degrees,' though, if you don't have a full scholarship and must 'work' to earn money to pay for your schooling. So it could take anywhere from 8 years to 16 years to get your PhD.
